Vintage Montague 7 1/2 foot 2 Pc (2/3) Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod EXCELLENT
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this very hard to find early split tonkin cane bamboo fly fishing rod with an early all metal reel seat that we have identified as a Montague design.  It is an 7 1/2 foot two piece rod with three matching tips. There are no markings (usually a decal) on the rod anywhere.  Montague did make a lot of rods under contract for various retailers like Marshall Field, Sears, and sporting goods stores like Dave Cook here in Denver and it could be one of those but we have seen examples before with no decal.  Our guess is that this is an early Fishkill model since it is a 7 1/2 foot rod and the Flash model wasn't made in that length.  The bamboo of all four pieces, the butt, reel seat, ferrules, eyes and wraps are all excellent on all four pieces

As usual, there are no marking as to the line this rod is balanced for but it throws a WF-6-F line very well in our yard.
Condition is used and each of the four sections is of original 45 inch length.  Condition of all of the bamboo is exceptional...bright and shiny.  Everything else is what we would call near mint except some wear and darkening on the cork grip.
We do ship worldwide but USA only on this one.  What you see is the actual rod you will receive.  These rods are too fragile to be shipping back and fourth so no returns.
