    Description

    Colorgetter Drum Scanner High Voltage
    PMT Supply,
Arc Lamp PS, lamp and FO switcher module
(Free shipping to Canada and the lower 48 states.)
Some long time ago I bought my first Optronics ColorgetterIII, and shortly after that I repaired numerous Colorgetter modules for a used prepress equipment dealer in Cleveland where I had bought my first machine.
Later I acquired a Falcon and a further chassis
for spare parts during the time I was actively scanning. I kept this as a spare for my Colorgetters 3 and
Falcon which have both since been sold.
So now I have the last 4 items of possible interest for you, a Colorgetter owner. (Somewhere
    on floppies I might maybe
still have the serial PROM and PAL data/chips which allow upgrading to full size scanning area, but that's an attic search issue possibly for the future)
    1. a functioning High Voltage Power Supply unit which supplies the HV via coax and BNC connector to the PMT photomultiplier tube assembly riding on the optical sled.
    2. a functioning ALPS (Arc Lamp Power Supply). The electronics of these Colorgetters are built like tanks but spares are a great idea for such a wonderful tool
that originally cost more than 0,000.
    3. a functioning Arc Lamp as a spare. See the attached current pricing for an idea of the current situation.
    4. A complete FO fiber optic switching module with solenoid, mint hot mirror and
front surface mirror, lens and thermal switch
When arc lamps get quite old, they will fail to strike and start up because of electrode degradation and then they are done. But quite often, failure to light is due to a
problem with the ALPS- a weakness in the high voltage laddering circuitry and it's switching elements. I know because I repaired them. A strong ALPS has a much better likelihood of striking
an arc in an older iffy lamp. Why spend money on a new lamp only to discover that the lamp was ok?
    This is a truly a
rare opportunity to get parts that are very difficult to find. I'm selling them all together to give a Colorgetter owner increased confidence in the ability to maintain their machine.
A photo shows the lamp at full arc and also still red while cooling. Further photos available and a video of the arc strike if desired. Thanks for looking, and happy hi-res and D-max scanning!
